Salesforce offers standard Applications such as Sales, Marketing, Service etc. In today’s article we will learn how to create an application tailored to the user’s needs using App Manager.
We go to Setup (Step 1) then search (Step 2) App Menager (Step 3), we will see the Lightning Experience App Manager window, where in Step 4 click New Lightning App.
App Details (Step 5) requires you to enter our unique name for our application, the Developer Name will generate itself and in Description you can describe what your application is for. In App Branding (Step 6) we can choose a photo that will be displayed next to the name of the Application and its color. Then click Next (Step 7).
Step 8 allows us to choose the style in which the App will be displayed, then in Supported Form Factors we can choose where our application will be available.
In Step 9 you can choose how the application will be displayed, then in Step 10 we can indicate whether the user can adjust the application or add temporary cards from outside the application.
Utility Items are tools displayed at the bottom of the application to allow easy access to them. Click on Step 11, a window will appear with a choice of items, add them by clicking on the selected one. Step 12 here we can change the display name.
Other display options are also available Step 13, then click Next (Step 14).
Going to the Navigation Item tab, select Objects that will be visible on our tab bar.
User Profiles determines for which user profiles we will use our Application. Click Save & Finish (Step 20).
Now we will set our Application to be visible in the first place after clicking on The App Launcher icon. To do this, click View All (Step 22).
We grab our new application and holding LPM move it to the top of the screen so that it is first in order.
Now let’s check if our application works properly.
