As promised, we will write a little more about the ERP system that we mentioned in a previous post
ERP stands for Enterprise Resources Planning. As the name suggests, we are talking about resources, although this can be confusing as this definition is not exhaustive.
Resource planning as understood by ERP systems includes sales, finances, accounting, human resources, supplies, warehouse and production. Similar to CRM systems, its main advantage is the centralization of company data. Having data in one place gives you the full picture of the company, which in turn allows you to make faster, more better decisions.
ERP systems support processes and key areas in business. ERP is:
- data analysis,
- remote work environment,
- mobile work,
- processes automation,
Today’s ERP systems are built of dedicated modules, each one dealing with a very narrow field. This gives access to specialized tools that facilitate daily work in the company. What’s more, most ERP systems are based on cloud technology, which means that the system can be accessed from anywhere – and often from any device, as long as you have access to the Internet.
Like other systems – such as CRM, ERP is a subject to constant changes, it is evolving all th time. Every improvement is adapted to the current market needs.
It can be said that ERP is a database that contains all the information important for the functioning of the company. It mainly focuses on the material aspects of running a business.
We have already written about what you can use the ERP system for, now, we will focus on the benefits of implementation of ERP at the company.
The first benefit – and perhaps the most important – is the centralization of all information about the material aspects of the enterprise in one place. All information in one place is a better picture of the real situation of the company. The information collected in the system is mainly used to create various types of reports, without the need to involve the IT department. Each of the employees with access to specific information is able to generate a report that can be used to define tasks. In the case of company’s management – strategy for the department or entire company.
Making decisions based on specific data allows for faster, more precise decision making, setting new directions, development opportunities, or determining the profitability of some of the current ventures.
The data itself has no value until we turn it into concrete information. This is what various types of IT systems such as ERP or CRM serve.
We hope that we have described the ERP system a little bit better here, than we did in our last post, which only briefly touched the surface of the subject.
If you are involved in production – but not only, the implementation of an ERP system will certainly pay off. Better information from specific data – and importantly – your data, means better decisions about resource planning at your company.
Finally, we will add that CRM from Salesforce is a system that can be integrated with almost any other system – including ERP. By using the latest technological solutions, you not only keep up with the changes taking place on the market, you become a member of the digital revolution already joined by the greatest companies from around the World.
If you are considering integrating a CRM system in your company, today is the best time to contact us! Do it today and become a member of the march towards a better tomorrow.
