How to send email from another email address in Salesforce?
The CRM system from the largest CRM service Provider in the world is very flexible and gives you many possibilities. In this article you will learn how to use Salesforce to send e-mails from different e-mail addresses to your customers.
The feature that allows Salesforce to use additional email addresses is called Organization-Wide Addresses.
In order to set an additional address, go to Setup (gear in the upper right corner). In Quick Find box, the search engine, type Organization-Wide Addresses. Click on the name and then on the Add button.
In the Display Name field → Enter the name to be displayed when sending an e-mail.
Email Address → Enter the e-mail address that is to be available as the next one.
Below we specify for which profiles the e-mail address entered above is to be available.
We have two options:
- Allow All Profiles to Use this From Address. Gives access to the e-mail address to all profiles (i.e. each user can use an additional e-mail address),
- Allow Only Selected Profiles to Use the From Address. Specifies the profiles for which the e-mail address is to be available (all users with a given profile can use an additional e-mail).
If we have chosen the second option, while holding Crtl + LMB we choose one or several profiles.
Then click Save.
Now we have to confirm (verify) the added e-mail address. Now we open the e-mail sent to the previously provided address and click on the link contained in this message.
The link took us to a new page, where we clicked the Continue button.
In this way, we have added an additional e-mail address in Salesforce, available to selected users of the system.
The use of an alternate email address has certain limitations:
You cannot use the alternate email address feature for:
- Scheduled reports
- Scheduled emails
- Scheduling dashboards for refresh
- Sending mail merge emails, mass email, list email, and meeting requests to contacts and leads
