There was a lot of talk about Slack at Dreamforce this year. What exactly Slack is? Let’s see.
Slack is a communication platform with the team. What distinguishes it from e-mail is speed, security and better organization of communication within the team.
Microsoft Teams is the equivalent of Slack.

Few people realize that SLACK is an acronym made of words: Searchable Log of All Conversation and Knowledge.
In early 2021, Salesforce bought Slack. We wrote about it on our blog.
This year’s Dreamforce – an annual event organized by Salesforce where many issues related to the development of functionality or recent company development are discussed, indicates that Salesforce puts a lot of emphasis on the use of the newly acquired company. Slack is to be “absorbed” by Salesforce and become an integrated part of the platform. So let’s find out what it is and get to know it better.
Slack is a tool used by over 600,000 companies from all over the World. It is estimated that the total number of Slack users around the world exceeds 10 million. The average time to log into the system is 9 hours a day. According to other studies, as many as 43% of the largest companies in the world, which are on the Fortune 500 list, use Slack in their daily work. Interestingly, over 3 million of the existing users (approx. 30%) have purchased premium plans (by definition the platform is free and has extended plans that give greater functionalities).
